Summit

A few weeks ago, my 2 men hiked the Summit while we were in Waterton. My delicate condition prevented me joining in...darn it. Truly one of the most beautiful hikes. There was a warning of a mama grizzly and her cubs at the top of the summit near the lakes, but no sign of her...phew.

The hike started here:

Sights along the way:

Ended here:

Wishing I could have done it again. I so love those mountains.

1 Month already

Little Lolo is 1 month old. It doesn't seem possible since she is only weighing in around 6 pounds. She is so sweet, and I pretty much never put her down. I did invest in a Moby wrap, so that I can keep her on me, but still have my hands free...pretty much a necessity if I am ever going to resume all my other duties around here. She is off the caffeine, and her breathing seems to be regulated now, though we will have her on the monitor for a little while longer. I really can't get any photos of her without Cooper, since he just wants to hold her and be where she is a lot of the time. Luckily the little bike I bought him last week serves as a good distraction now and then.

Super Fan

Look who was named Boise's Superfan by Sports Illustrated last week....

I love you Bronco Libre. I love your sparkly mask, your orange stretchy pants, and your fanatical enthusiasm for Boise State Football.

Apologies

Just for a change of pace, I will not post any baby photos with this post...no, in fact, I will just make a brief but sincere apology.

Here it goes: I am sorry to all my blogging friends, who enjoy the social aspects of blogging. I am sorry that I read your blog posts and rarely make comments. I am sorry if you mistake this for apathy, because I actually thoroughly enjoy reading them, but I am a lousy commenter.
If it makes you happy, I don't expect anyone to comment on my posts. And actually, very few of you do, because there is some kind of reciprocal etiquette to blogging I guess, and that is OKAY. I don't worry about it, or take it personally. All I am asking is that you do the same for me.
I appreciate all of you and your cute blogs. You are all amazing parents, friends, and people and I am glad you share a small piece of that with me through your blogs. Please consider that a comment!

3 WEEKS

Cooper trying on one of Marlo's new outfits...he eventually decided they weren't his style. Lies. Actually he decided they were too tight.

Marlo is 3 weeks old today. She's weighing in at 5 lbs, 11oz. Tiny, I know, but almost a pound of gain since we left the hospital not quit 2 weeks ago. She's got my heart. I am amazed how every time I have a baby, my heart expands enough so that I wonder how it's possible to love yet another child as fully and unconditionally as the first time...crazy.

Snuggles

This baby gets lots of snuggles...in fact the only time she's not being held is when I am trying to take her picture...

Motivation

Lolo is 2 weeks old already. I find myself unable to get motivated to do anything but this.

Where did the Summer go???

Really...where did the summer go?

Okay, I guess June was spent at the pool and in the yard. I spent the month doing projects and making my kids work.
July was fun. We spent 2 weeks in Canada. A week with the Francis Grandparents and cousins, then a week in Waterton, and a 50th wedding anniversary party with the Dudley's.

August...sigh. Spent the first 3 weeks of it in the hospital. Sort of forgot it was summer. Celebrated my birthday in there, and then gave birth. Another 9 days in NICU. Got home, only to send kids off to school 5 days later. Again, sigh.
August is where it all came apart this year. Oh well, at least we got another cute baby out of the deal, and fall is a nice season anyway. Can't wait for fall. HOORAY for fall.

Home Sweet Home

Hooray. We are home. After sleeping in plastic hospital beds for 24 nights, I finally got to sleep in my own bed last night, with baby right next to me in her bili box. Okay, it's not ideal, the whole bedroom has a blue glow to it, but I don't even care that we got sent home with a bunch of extra equipment, and instructions to follow...I'm just happy to be home.

We got discharged yesterday afternoon and the kids had a party prepared for us when we got here, complete with balloons and streamers. The kids can't get enough of holding the baby. Cooper tried to push her out of my arms a couple of times, but we kept telling him that she was his baby sister, and we tried to let him get used to her, which he is. In fact, he was yelling "Huggy baby sisser" at me all morning. So I have to put her in front of him while he slobbers all over her face and puts her in a headlock....(she'll learn to love it). We still have quite a bit of upkeep, checking her bilirubin levels, weight, and keeping her on the breathing monitor when she sleeps, but it will only be a short time. She looks even better today than yesterday.
