First Swim Meet of the Season

Today was the first swim meet of the season. Tatym (little girl phelps) kicked some booty in 6 of her races. The girl has a mean freestyle, butterfly, and breaststroke going on. Josh did amazing too and won his butterfly and freestyle, and relay. The big shocker was Piper though, who competed in backstroke, and freestyle in the 8 and under (she is six). She looked great and really surprised everyone with her awesome swimming. All in all the kids were really happy with how it all turned out, and can't wait for the next meet. The Coach was super thrilled and loved how great they did too! We are proud of them and their efforts

Regionals : Wrestling

We travelled to Pocatello for the Western States Regional Wrestling Finals. It's kind of a big deal. Josh worked hard to qualify in State and we were proud he made it there. He lost out his first 2 matches, (Kids don't travel from Alaska and Hawaii to compete unless they are GOOD), but he had tons of fun anyway, and good experience for next time. Grandma Dudley, Aunt Susie, Jessica, and Aunt Angie and the kids all made it to support Josh, so that was pretty special. This year Nationals are in Utah, so it would have been a good year to make it through regionals, but oh well. He'll get 'em next year!

Updates on Nesting

Well, some of the projects are complete.

Tatym's room : done
Piper's room: done
Josh's room: done
Addition : done
Cleaned out closets : done
Cleaned out garage: done
Cleaned out toy room : done
Hooray.

I still have multiple other projects on my list, but the list is shrinking considerably, which is good, since my feet are swelling more every day!

McCall

We spent Father's Day Weekend up in McCall. The weather was gorgeous, and the kids had a blast playing on the beach, in the pool, and around the hotel. What a relaxing weekend.

End of School

Well, the kids are relieved and excited to have made it through one more year of school. This year, Piper had her kindergarten graduation, and I don't care how many kids you have, it's always a little bittersweet. Piper absolutely loved school, and will be so happy to enter 1st grade. Josh and Tatym are super students too, and we had excellent report cards all the way around. We had to wait a few days to have our annual end of school whipped cream fight, but, we weren't going to miss out on that!

Vindicated

Finally...someone else has come around to my way of thinking. I take a lot of crap for insisting that sunscreen is bad for you. I've been saying it for a while, and not just cause I break out in massive bumpy rashes from it, though that definitely helps. I actually have pretty much decided that anything that you wouldn't eat, shouldn't be rubbed into your skin. I know it's kind of extreme, but it's kind of common sense I think, and when you read about the dangers of pthalates, parabens, and all the other chemicals in our "beauty products", you might come around as well. Tonya made my day yesterday by sharing this link with me and had to admit I was on to something. I love it.

and get the full research information, a list of the ten best and worst sunscreens, and tons more really cool info.
